British
Council

Over the years, our partnership with the British Council has focused on empowering women in the arts. The Future Femme Filmmakers Project in collaboration with Matamba Film Labs united women creatives in innovative storytelling using mixed reality techniques (VR/AR/MR/XR) for cross-cultural knowledge exchange. Additionally, the These Images are Stories Project supported young female photographers and poets from Harare and London, exploring their experiences and challenges. The international exchange provided valuable insights, fostering discussions on what it means to be a strong African woman amidst issues of sexism, racism, and gender parity. This collaboration involved Impact Hub Harare, Zimbo Jam Trust, Impact Hub Islington (UK), All Change Arts (UK), and the Zimbabwe German Society.

United Nations
Children's Fund

In partnership with UNICEF Zimbabwe and the City of Harare Nutrition Unit, Impact Hub Harare introduced the Guta blockchain system to improve school nutrition. The system, piloted at Mutasa Primary School with over 400 students, encourages the purchase of healthy food via an easy-to-use app. Vendors also benefit from personal mobile shops to track sales. Despite lockdown challenges, the month-long pilot saw 607 transactions, with 60% involving nutritious foods. The initiative promotes better diets for schoolchildren and strengthens the food system through innovative blockchain technology.
